At the University of Missouri, April is celebrated as LGBTQ Pride month! Events, fun, history, education, and community are just some of the things you’ll find each April, and Pride 2016 is gearing up to be the best yet!

A Night with Kit Yan

Kit Yan is an award-winning queer, transgender, Asian-American, Brooklyn-based slam poet from Hawaii. Kit will be performing his one person theater show, Queer Heartache, and hosting a slam poetry workshop after the performance. Event produced by the Asian American Association (AAA).

GaySL: A Crash Course in LGBTQ American Sign Language

Bring a poster, bring a message, bring a friend, bring yourself! Show your pride and support of all Tigers by marching through campus with us! All are welcome to join in or cheer as we walk by.

 

Take Back The Night!

Traditions Plaza, (rain site: The Shack)
Join together in the mission to end harassment and sexual assault. Students and community members will gather for a rally and march through MU campus demonstrating an utter intolerance for violence. Come show your support by rallying, marching, or cheering on from the sidewalk. A candle light vigil will follow the march. Finally, students will have the opportunity to “speak out” about their experiences. SHATTER THE SILENCE, STOP THE VIOLENCE.
